Why you should apply for membership?

Membership is open to all tourist guides within Cape Town & the Western Cape who are registered with the Department of Economic Affairs and Tourism.

Benefits to joining CTGA –

• To ensure that only legal tourist guides are marketed in the tourism industry
• To expose all our members to what is new & happening within Cape Town & Western Cape by arranging workshops, educationals, networking meetings etc
• The CTGA acts as a spokesperson on behalf of guides between Government & various other Tourism Authorities and Bodies
• Representation: CTGA represents all tourist guides at relevant meetings and forums, with tourist guides best interests at heart.
• Participation: CTGA executive team will make legal submissions on behalf of tourist guides.
• Monthly meetings: Our monthly members meetings are hosted at different locations throughout Cape Town and surrounds. It gives our members an opportunity to view new and interesting venues and learn what they have to offer visitors, not to mention the interesting and educational topics and speakers at the meetings.
• Monthly speakers: Our speakers cover a wide range of informative topics relevant to tourist guiding and tourism.
• Networking: Members have the opportunity to network with other members and gain insight into their guiding experiences and challenges.
• Educational events/ site inspections: Our educational events allow members exclusive opportunities to tour and inspect locations, which allows guides the opportunity to add new experiences to their itineraries.
