Being a Tourist Guide

A tourist guide…

  • Has to register with the Department of Economic Development and Tourism according to the Tourism Act No. 3 of 2014.
  • Has to, at all times, adhere to a Code of Conduct and Ethics.
  • While operating/working has to adhere to all legal requirements by law; including (and not limited to) using legally registered vehicles (Operators Permit), having a valid ID Card and only guiding within the area of your qualification, making sure that  all relevant insurances and permits are in place, holding both a valid PDP driver’s license and a valid first aid certificate.

Tourist guides are required by law always to carry their tourist guide identification card with them and to display their badges on the upper body where it can be seen.
